The Reopening of our Churches for Prayer and Worship

The Reopening of our Churches for Prayer and Worship

After consulting with our two PCCs and in anticipation of the Government’s publishing of its roadmap to ending the current lockdown, we are satisfied that the ongoing successful vaccination programme and the current lockdown is having a positive impact on reducing infection rates and giving more people immunity. Providing that this continues its downwards trajectory I’m very pleased to inform you that we can move towards the reopening of both churches for public worship next month, in two stages.

  1. Both churches will open for Private Prayer between 10am-12 noon from this Sunday 21st February, and also on 28th February & 7th March. Please do pop into your church to spend some time in prayer. Heating will be on!

  1. Sunday Eucharist will resume on 14th March (Mothering Sunday) in both churches at their usual times. Wednesday Eucharist will resume in both churches on 17th March at their usual times.

Social distancing and the requirement to wear a face covering and sanitise hands etc. will continue to be in place whenever we are in church. Congregation singing is still not permitted, I’m afraid. We must not gather or mix with those outside our bubbles either inside or on church grounds. This is for all our protection.
